The format
What is the My9Albums template?
The My9Albums template is a simple social format: a 3x3 grid of the nine albums that say the most about you, exported as one image you can post anywhere. Think of it as a mixtape cover for the feed era — nine record sleeves instead of ninety songs, arranged so friends can read your taste at a glance.
A 3x3 grid that reads like a shelf
Each cell holds one album cover, squared and cropped so the grid stays perfectly aligned. The order is yours: open with the record that started everything, save the favorite for last, or sort by era. Because the poster is a single PNG, it looks identical on every phone, feed and wallpaper.
Why nine albums went viral
The nine-albums challenge spread because it asks a hard question with a small limit. Nine is enough to show range — one for dancing, one for heartbreak, one your parents played — but few enough that every choice means something. The My9Albums template turns that challenge into a two-minute ritual instead of an evening in a design app.
No accounts, no uploads, no lock-in
Everything runs in your browser. Album data is fetched from MusicBrainz and artwork from the Cover Art Archive, your draft is saved to your browser storage, and uploaded covers never leave your device. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel later.
Sources
Where the album data comes from
Every search in the My9Albums template hits live, community-maintained databases — we do not keep a private catalog, so what you see is what the public record says. A poster is only as trustworthy as its discography, so here are the exact sources we cite.
“MusicBrainz is an open music encyclopedia that collects music metadata and makes it available to the public.”
Artwork is served by the Cover Art Archive, a project of the Internet Archive, and belongs to its respective copyright holders: coverartarchive.org
Six looks
Six themes for your My9Albums template poster
One tap switches the whole poster — background, text, accent and borders change together, so every My9Albums template export looks intentional, never accidental.
Paper
Warm off-white with ink-black type. The closest a My9Albums template gets to a printed sleeve — quiet, classic, gallery-friendly.
Dark
Near-black with an amber accent. Extra pop for bright covers, and the safest pick for night-mode feeds.
Cream
Ivory paper with coffee-brown text. A soft vintage mood for folk, soul and sixties presses.
Vinyl
Charcoal with a gold accent that nods to record-label type. Built for jazz, hip-hop and crate-dug rarities.
Neon
Deep purple with a hot-pink accent. Loud on purpose — synthwave, hyperpop and festival posters.
Red
Saturated red with cream type. The My9Albums template at maximum volume — punk, metal, stadium rock.
