About My9Albums
Why the My9Albums template exists, how it is built, and the editorial standards behind every poster.

Why we built this
My9Albums started the way most good tools do: we wanted the thing and it didn't exist yet. The nine-albums challenge was everywhere — friends posting 3x3 grids of the records that shaped them — but every version we tried either demanded an account, watermarked the export, or buried the tool behind a landing page. So we built the My9Albums template we wanted: one page, the tool first, the story below it, and a clean PNG at the end.
How the site is built
The whole product lives on a single URL. Search an album, fill nine slots, style, download — no detours, no sign-up walls. Album metadata is fetched live from MusicBrainz and artwork from the Cover Art Archive; covers you upload never leave your browser. Drafts are saved locally, and the poster itself is rendered on your device by the same engine that draws the live preview.
Editorial standards
- Public data only. Release titles, artists and years come from community-maintained databases, not a private catalog.
- Artwork stays with its owners. We display covers to assemble personal posters; we never host galleries or sell artwork.
- Honest defaults. Free means free: every theme and both export formats (1800 x 2100 poster, 1080 x 1920 story) are unlocked, with no watermark.
- Six languages, one standard. The English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean versions are written, not machine-pasted.
The small team behind it
My9Albums is an independent project maintained by a tiny editorial team. We review the popular-albums list periodically and keep this page, the FAQ and the legal pages up to date. Spotted something wrong? The contact page explains how to reach us.
