Search manga titles and genres
The search box above pulls live from AniList, one of the largest community manga databases in the world, and it understands both English and Japanese titles — type Berserk or Kentaro Miura's Beruseruku spellings and you will reach the same landmark. Every manga result is the real print entity: the serialized series, the one-shot or the light novel, each with its own AniList id and its own cover. That matters more than it sounds. A manga and its anime adaptation are different works with different histories, and this page only searches the printed side — if you want the animated versions, the My 9 Anime grid is the tool for that.
Each result also carries its real format tag. Manga fans know the difference between a long-running shonen epic, a dense seinen masterwork, a single-volume one-shot and a light novel series, so the picker shows which is which instead of flattening everything into one pile. Adult content is filtered out of every query before results ever reach the page. If a series has no cover art in the database, its slot shows a clean text tile — the tool never invents artwork that does not exist.
Discover manga for your nine
Not sure where to start? Under the grid, the Not sure what to pick? panel turns your taste into candidates. Tap a few genres you love — action, drama, psychological, sports — and maybe an era, and the panel ranks real, verified manga from a curated seed of landmark series: the classics that built the medium and the modern hits carrying it forward. Every suggestion comes from that hand-checked list, matched against the tags you tapped. Nothing is invented, and nothing is a fake "readers also enjoyed" number.
Feeling impatient? Surprise me deals nine manga from the top of your ranking with one tap, and Use these 9 drops them straight into the grid — the tool asks before overwriting a nine you have already started. From there, swap one or two titles and the poster is yours. A recommendation-built manga grid takes about thirty seconds; the sorting-out-loud part — which nine volumes actually made you — is the fun you keep.
Create and download your manga collage
- 1. Fill your nine slots. Search by title, tap a genre through the suggestion panel, or open one of the example grids below and remix it. Drag to reorder on desktop, use the arrow buttons on mobile, and pick from six themes — warm paper, dark, cream, vinyl, neon and red — until the poster matches the shelf you would put it on.
- 2. Letterboxed covers, never cropped. Manga covers are taller than square, so every cell letterboxes the full jacket — spine-to-front — instead of chopping art off the edges. Add a title, a subtitle and your handle, and turn on series names under the grid if you want readers who do not know the covers by sight.
- 3. Export and share. Download a 1080×1080 square for feeds, a 1800×2100 poster for printing, or a 1080×1920 story for vertical formats — all rendered in your browser, no watermark, no account. The share link encodes your exact nine manga so a friend can open your grid, swap two titles and export their own version in under a minute.
Drafts save automatically in your browser per topic, so your manga grid survives a refresh, a closed tab and a week of indecision about slot nine. Nothing you pick leaves your device unless you press share.

Use this grid →What makes a good nine-manga grid
A manga grid reads differently from an anime grid, because manga is where most stories actually started. The nine volumes you pick can be the series you read cover-to-cover in a single summer, the artist whose art made you draw, or the one-shot you still think about years later. Some readers build their nine around a single magazine — a Shonen Jump lineup, a Morning seinen shelf — others mix eras freely: Osamu Tezuka-era foundations next to last month's debut. The center square is traditionally the loudest claim: the one manga you would defend in any argument.
Because this tool treats every manga as its own entity, a series and its sequel, restart or side story each take a separate slot — you decide whether your nine holds two Tezuka works or nine different voices. Turning series names on makes a friendlier grid for people who do not recognize covers on sight; leaving them off makes a purer wall of art. Either way, the letterboxed jackets keep their spines, their trade dress and their typography intact, which is exactly how a manga shelf should look.
Data sources & credits
Manga titles, ids, genres and cover art are provided by AniList, a community-maintained database, through its public GraphQL API. Manga covers belong to their publishers and creators; this tool shows them so you can assemble a personal grid and export a personal poster, and all rights remain with their owners. If you also want the animated side of your taste, make a nine-anime poster — or browse every nine-grid template on the site, from albums to Pokémon cards, all with the same editor and free exports.
FAQ about the manga grid maker
Can I choose manga instead of anime?
Yes — this page searches manga only: serialized series, one-shots and light novels in their printed form. The anime page is a separate grid with separate data, so the two never mix. Many readers end up making one of each and comparing where they differ.
Can I pick more than one series by the same author?
Absolutely. Duplicate protection works on series, not authors — two different manga by the same creator are two different picks. Only the exact same series is blocked from filling two slots.
Do light novels count as manga here?
They are searchable and clearly labelled with their real format tag — light novel, one-shot or manga — so you can include them knowingly or filter them out by eye. The grid itself treats every pick the same way.
Can I share my manga grid with a friend?
Yes. Once all nine manga are selected, Copy Link builds a URL that reopens your exact grid — order, theme, title and handle included — on any device. Your friend can remix it, swap two titles, and export their own poster in seconds.
Is the manga poster really free?
Yes: every theme, all three export sizes, the suggestion panel and link sharing are free, with no watermark and no account. The tool runs entirely in your browser and your draft is saved locally on your device.
